This volume covers the period of international football between 1945 and 1966. The era, marked by the Cold War and the rivalry between two world systems, brought football an unprecedented popularity. The book presents the birth of new international tournaments (European Championship, World Cup), deals with South American football strikes, stadium disasters and the phenomenon of early hooliganism. It covers in detail the events of the top leagues (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish) as well as Hungarian successes, such as the 1952 Olympic gold, the 1954 World Cup silver and Fradi's 1965 VVK feat, but only repeating the most necessary facts.
